SMB population control strategy

music and medicine

Early in the 21st century human population is spiraling out of control. In the summer of 2007 SMB sets out to find answers. J immediately suggests genocide using tried and true methods. T responds by telling a now classic acid trip story which forms the foundation of modern dimensional corridor theory. The idea goes something like this: Pick any spot on the earth, like Buckfield, Maine for instance, and merge all time periods throughout the past and future. Buckfield will contain millions of people. Definitely not cool. So apparently, discrete states of time save us from massive overpopulation. The only objects existing in a place at any given time are the ones currently in that place -- not the ones from past and future.*

T applies this principle to acid trips. That is, on an acid trip you can have four people in the same room who are so high they each have their own reality -- within the room. By extrapolation you can have any number of people in a room as long as they're all tripping and experiencing separate realities. T explains these realities as corridors on a dimensional axis. Think of time and space as two dimensions on a graph. Now add a third dimension x.

For any point in time/space there is an infinite x vector which is dimensional space.

Assuming a finite bandwidth for human objects, we can divide the x vector up into discrete dimensional slots.

Theoretically bandwidth can be infinitely large. That's not important. This method accommodates an infinite human population. The question becomes, not what is the ideal population of Earth, but what is the ideal number of dimensions? Who goes into which dimensional slots? Will inter-dimensional travel be allowed?

B finds an elegant solution based on designer pharmaceutical products. Researching the peyote genome, he discovers receptor site GM-47-b-SuB9, containing the binary coded dimensional slot number. By inserting a new dimensional number into this receptor site, subjects consuming genetically modified peyote (GMP) are shuttled into appropriate slots. Z suggests that dimensional travelers should have an emergency kit, which allows them to return to dimensional slot 0, for repurposing -- in case they get lost or misplaced. The dimension zero solution works fine, as long as not too many people try to return there at any given place.

Using these methods, J is able to obtain an inexhaustible supply of 19 year old girls from the past and the future. That ultimately leads to his fatal accident and the end of SMB.
